Linda Greig

Linda Greig, 
Director of Commercialisation and Business Development / Managing Director of Carnegie Enterprise 

Linda is a graduate of Edinburgh Napier University and University of Stirling from where she achieved her Masters in Education.    She is a member of the Institute of Directors, as well as a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.

She took up the post of Director of Commercialisation and Business Development for Carnegie College, and became Managing Director of Carnegie Enterprise (wholly owned subsidiary of Carnegie College) in September 2006.   Prior to that, she held a number of other posts within Carnegie College including Development Manager, Depute Managing Director of Carnegie Enterprise, and Head of the School of Engineering and Technology at the Rosyth campus.

She has also been appointed to the following non-executive director roles:

Director, Business Enterprise Scotland
Director, PACT Enterprises Ltd


Jan Thomson

Jan Thomson, BSc (Hons) FCIPD
Depute Managing Director  

Supporting the MD in managing all aspects of the business, Jan is key to the development of commercial business for CCC and is responsible for the strategic development of the sales force at Carnegie. After gaining her first degree at the University of Stirling she went on to gain a post graduate Certificate in Community Education before completing her CIPD professional qualifications in 1992. Her role within Carnegie Enterprise is to work closely with the business community to lead on the design and delivery of training solutions and to assist in the generation of conferencing business supporting conferencing team to deliver excellent service. She has worked within the training and development function in both the public and private sector for over 25 years. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and corporate member of the Chartered Management Institute, where she sits on local branch and Scottish Partnership committees. She is also a corporate member of the Chartered Management Institute.


Joyce Gordon

Joyce Gordon, Conference Manager

With over 15 years experience in the conference and banqueting industry, Joyce is at the helm of operations within CCC.  Joyce is responsible for ensuring the needs of our customers are met on a daily basis.


Kern Simpson, Head Chef

Kern has worked in some of the most prestigious venues in Scotland, including the 5 star Fairmont in St Andrews where he has cooked for world leaders, royalty and many Hollywood stars. Kern has worked in Denmark and Israel, gaining valuable international experience. Most recently he was Head Chef at The Scores Hotel in St Andrews.

Kern is passionate about using only fresh, local produce and has been serving up some great dishes. We hope regular and new clients will join us soon to try out our superb new menus.


Refar Jabbour - Restaurant Manager

Refat Jabbour, Restaurant Manager

Originally from the Lebanon, Refat is responsible for the restaurant and bar staff within CCC and comes from a long and varied career in the hospitality industry. Having worked in a range of venues including stadia, restaurants and hotels, as well as being Restaurant Manager, he also leads on the operational co-ordination of our weddings as Master of Ceremonies.  The centre's excellent reputation for high quality service is a mark of his dedication, talent and professionalism.


Donna Martin, Conference Sales Manager

With over 15 years’ experience in the hospitality sector, working with brands such as Hilton, Holiday Inn & Macdonald hotels, Donna brings a forward thinking vision, in terms of bringing new business to Carnegie Conference Centre.

She has a wealth of experience in targeting  business markets, both locally and nationally.  Her role is developing  new business growth within both the public and private sector conference and event markets, ensuring continued growth with Conference Agents and Corporate clients.


Sarah-Jane Friedman

Sarah-Jane Friedman, Conference Salesperson

Sarah-Jane joined the conference centre in November last year and brings with her over 8 years of sales and coordination experience.  Having worked in Event Management and Hospitality sales for over 4 years Sarah-Jane is happy to deal with requests from conferences to more extravagant dinners, team away days and themed events.  Sarah-Jane's role includes dealing with new enquiries and researching new clients to work with the Centre and can often be found manning our exhibition stands at various industry events throughout the year.
